	Infinity Ward has released the newest patch today for *Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, bringing the game to v1.7. Please note that this is an incremental patch and you will need to first have the v1.6 patch* installed. Here is the change log: • Fixed an exploit that allowed players to access certain console dvars during multi-player matches. • Fixed a crash that could occur when a Chinatown Sabotage match would go into over-time. • Fixed a bug where the MP icons (Bomb, Defend, Capture, etc) were always showing up as English regardless of the install language. 	The third annual Veterans Day on 27 June 2008 is a chance for the nation to recognise the contribution made by veterans of all ages in conflicts both past and present. Blackpool has been chosen to hold the 2008 National Veterans Day event and, in addition, a large number of other events, ranging in size, will be taking place across the UK during the summer. The Ministry of Defence has pledged to fund £25K towards the cost of Blackpool's celebrations. View the MoD promotional video below. The Royal British Legion welcomes Veterans Day as an opportunity to celebrate the many achievements of the UK's ex-SErvice community. It is appropriate that away from the solemnity of Remembrance Sunday in November, time is set aside during the year to acknowledge the very great contribution our Veterans have made In-Service to their country. It also represents an important opportunity to discuss the issues affecting veterans past and present. A special London event is being held at Trafalgar Square from 11am to 5pm and will include a badge ceremony, band performances, talks and exhibitions. For more information, visit the Mayor of London website. There are a number of events associated with Veterans Day being held at the National Memorial Arboretum. 	With the upcoming Call of Duty 1.6 patch, which nVidia currently leaked 24 hours early. We will endeavour to update your servers to the newest patch as soon as the server files for 1.6 are released. 	Great news! Heads up that the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Variety Map Pack sponsored by NVIDIA will be available worldwide for our PC players next week on June 5th! NVIDIA is making it possible for PC players to download the map pack for Free on the PC thanks to their sponsorship. In addition, expect to see quite a few promotions popping up leading up to the launch of the map packs on the 5th and beyond. I know NVIDIA has a lot of great things planned for PC users in addition to maps becoming available. There’s going to be some PC specific previews going up online this weekend I believe that will cover how well the maps play on the PC version as well as some contests and promotions happening all next week. I’ll be posting up details on them as they get started all this week! The Variety Map Pack includes four new maps for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare multiplayer including Broadcast, Chinatown, Killhouse, and Creek. In addition to the map pack hitting, PC Players will be receiving the 1.6 Patch for the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare that will add support for the new maps, fix a server crash exploit recently reported by the community, and a few additional features / bug fixes. I will post a full patch notes list next week.
